 Re: Project Harbinger
Ok finally got some money so the project can finally continue. There's been a couple of revisions 1)I am now using a corsair H50 cooler to save space "More room for HDD's" 2)All of the Rad brackets are being redone with clear acrylic 3) May invest in some Dominator RAM 4) BluRay Slot load drive maybe 5). . . New cover with Tribal markings and mesh vents
Well I got my Alu sheets coming in this week so I will keep you guys posted.

 Re: Project Harbinger
h4vok, check this out. http://www.ncixus.com/products/35702/35 ... 00/Asetek/turns out the H50 is just a rebranded asetek 1x120 cooler. dunno about you, but i'd be more comfortable with one of these rather than he h50

 Re: Project Harbinger
Got my aluminum sheet in and what a deal this sheet for only 30 bucks 2.3mm thick!!! Here it is next to the old shell Well Shadowhunter most of the the H50 and similar coolers are all rebranded astek coolers Alienware, HP, and voodoo all use astek coolers Im using the 120mm model to save space, thanks though maybe one of those for another mod Bigger update though no pics. . . yet Harbinger is now going to be a SCRATCH BUILD I ordered the sheet of aluminum I needed earlier today and a brake to form it. Unfortunetly when I started on the Fragbox case I really hadnt done my research on modding shame to see it have to suffer but we all learn from one building block or another. Now if I could only afford a CNC machine "COUGH Get started on OSIDIAS Craig COUGH" lol

 Re: Project Harbinger
That's a great price on the aluminum. I need to get some shortly myself, and big sheets can be a little costly.
(Lol, I'll get started on OSIDIAS soon enough)

 Re: Project Harbinger
Well I decided to take the smart route and take everything into precaution this time around and have started to think. . . MONSTA RAD anyone??? I gotta do some math. . . ok alot of math but I think I may be able to get a monsta rad for Harbinger and maybe some 480's if not better.

 Re: Project Harbinger
Ok so the monsta rad idea is a no go either I make the case 15mm wider or taller or inorder for it to fit properly I would have a 2ft long SFF case. So I am going to keep my dual 240 stealths more than enough for the cooling. Expect updates soon. . . for real this time lol

 Re: Project Harbinger
Yeah, the Monsta is a huge rad. It's got more volume than quite a few ITX cases all by itself. Dual 240's should be fine for cooling, and unlike the Monsta, are actually compact. I'll be waiting for the updates man!

 Re: Project Harbinger
Well about damn time I updated Ok so after months of revisions and ideas I have the final and this time really is the FINAL Harbinger layout. I color coded everything for ease of understanding RED- Is a hinge attached to the mobo plate (Transparent square thingy) this allows for the mobo to be lifted up when installing drives. GREEN- Mobo plate stand offs/ WD Black HDD locations YELLOW- Pump mount BLUE- Dual slot load drives Front view slots for the dual slot load drives and the small retangular cut is for the front panel on/off switch and front port. The front panel will be held on by counter sunk screws that attach from the inside. Mesh 120mm airhole for the Corsair H50 (Amazing cooler BTW highly recommend) this let me save a ton of space and upgrade to the Dominator RAM. Overall--- the case is still the same length but now is about 15mm taller. Hoping to start cutting tomorrow.

 Re: Project Harbinger
Nice to see work will be beginning again soon! I like the location of the dual slotload drives.

 Re: Project Harbinger
Ok I almost made a $40 mistake I looked at my measurement and WTF came to my mind I rechecked my measurements and I added the increase mm from the wrong point case came out to be taller than a lian-li V300!!! so redid the measurements and now everything is good but anyone got any suggestions on hinges I gotta go pick up some dremel disk and them before I start. Any suggestions guys?

 Re: Project Harbinger
Damn, at least you caught it! I've made many pretty expensive mistakes myself, and it's always a harsh lesson learned. Lol.
Your hinge options are going to be limited. Are you looking to buy locally? Frankly, I've never seen a hinge integrated on a case that ended up looking like it belonged. I think that's why most cases have simple removable panels and covers.

 Re: Project Harbinger
Your definitely right there Craig hmmm did some thinking and I am just going to have it be a removable mobo plate not slide out or anything fancy but just held by 4 standoffs. Waiting to buy another slot load drive man these things are expensive lol Got a quote for powder coating though its gonna be a steal at 15 bucks !!! Made a few changes the radiator brackets are gonna be removable held by screws for ease of access when installing and uninstalling parts.

 Re: Project Harbinger
Yeah, sometimes simpler is better. It's something I keep trying to remember myself, but don't always follow through on. So, on second thought, don't listen to a anything I say. Lol.
$15 powdercoating? Wow, that is a steal! I assume the quality will still be good at that price?

 Re: Project Harbinger
WAIT WHAT A. . . A. . . UPDATE!!! Yes we have an update!!!! After much waited procastination and measuring Harbinger finally has a base! Here's the mock fit everything seems and is good, the extra couple of mm lets room for the dual slot drives and HDD's And here. . . here is Harbinger in the aluminum womb lol 30 mins later The aluminum is about 2.5mm thick I attempted to bend it by hand and yeah EPIC fail it won't even budge but then again I like the reassurance that its not going to flex under the weight of the watercooling components Well until my metal bending brake comes in my updates will stagger a little bit

 Re: Project Harbinger
What metal brake are you going to be getting? I was in for an unpleasant surprise when I tried to bend some 2.5mm over the weekend on mine. It turns out that just having a heavy duty brake wasn't enough. Due to it's design it wasn't putting enough leverage on the metal, and was resulting in a bending fail... I'm not sure how I'm going to fix it yet.

 Re: Project Harbinger
I was going to use this one http://cgi.ebay.com/30-Steel-Bending-Br ... 519320df70 but also I plan on scoring along the bend line .
